THE COLOR OF DREAMS BLOG HOP

The color of dreams blog hop is a challenge from Rita of Jewel School Friends.  50 Participants received a free bead (I love free) to create and discuss our dreams
This was the bead I received. These were the beads distributed
Color of Dreams Bead Bounty

At first I was disappointed with my bead.  I am a pink girl I love bright colors, a romantic at heart, I wanted flowers and butterflies, and then I realized the challenge. I realized that part of my dreams is to be able to meet challenges head on. Take the challenge and make the best of it.

I selected Turquoise and copper made dangles, I love movement. I created this Bracelet.  It didn't feel like my dream.  I like Vintage. One of my dreams is to create Vintage inspired Jewelry.

So I choose a Brass stamping from BSUE BOUTIQUES, I grabbed my Lumiere's from Bsue"s and colored it in happy colors from within the bead, (I am always challenged with browns and blacks) attached my pretty bead, copper findings, crystals and chain. Now this vintage inspiration feels like me. I love the inspiration the bead created within me, and gave me the ability to create this piece.

My Dream is too learn all that I can about creating Jewelry. But also to acknowledge that there are things I want to know but not necessarily be able to do. I dream of the perfect space in which to create, I have yet to accomplish that. I dream of having a customer following base as I venture into having my own website. A dream I hope to accomplish in the near future. I so need a pair of earrings for my Lovely Necklace

I hope you have enjoyed this post as much as I did writing it. Hop around there are 50 of us. Happy Sunday!

  1. I loved your first design, Gloria, but I'm also happy you followed your dream and forged ahead to create again :) I actually like the modern "artsy" look of the bead you received, which is quite distinctly different from a lot of the others, isn't it? You have certainly been successful in melding that modern look with the vintage style you prefer... great job!

  3. Gloria I liked the bracelet but the necklace you created is way better. It is beautiful. Good job meeting the challenge and working with something that was not your favorite to create a wonderful piece of jewelry.

  4. Can we swap places Gloria? lol I am so not a pink girl :-)

I've been meaning to tackle this color for ages now. I think that I have only made one pink necklace and um I don't really like it lol Strangely enough, I do love seeing and admiring how other designers/artists use pink in their designs just don't like what I create with it lol

I agree with the others - the necklace is gorgeous and I think that you integrated the bead into it perfectly.

I wish you all the very best with your dreams - seems to me that you're already off to a great start :-)

    Cheers!

  9. Both designs show how much of a design that you really are. I was overwhelmed by mine even though you were at first disappointed. I feel we each had some struggles along the way as we do in our dreams and how we choose the different paths that inspire us to work with new techniques and designs. Thank you for sharing your heart of dreams.

  18. I really like the bracelet, so much color and joy in it. But I like the way when it didn't really fit your dream/vision, you kept on and created a wonderful, vintage feel necklace. Both are very pretty and I know your dream will come true as both of these pieces are great.
