I was very challenged with my soup as I would never on my own choose black as a major design element. However I thought my vintage inspired brass looked real good with the black chain. But you know me, I have to have some color and so the brass flower has Lumiere paint and Krylon sealer to retain its colors. Did you see the Golden yellow freshwater pearls?
I added beads from my CC Designs stash and Wah-La
Next I just wanted to use some of those Czech fire polished Jet beads in a multi strand bracelet so I used blue seed beads that matched the main focal sent to me, and they coordinate nicely with the Preciosa crystals. I also used gold to match the freshwater pearls.
I had a kitchen fire last week everybody is fine and my house is still standing. The insurance company had to send a cleaning crew.
I guess your wondering why Im telling you this in the middle of a party? Smoke all through my house couldn't find my beads, still can't find some things and it made me late posting, I do apologize. Now for the Main Focal and clasp. Everything I love, dangles, sparkles a little silver filigree. I even did beadwork:
This beaded neck chain IS Gorgeous with this focal. The pictures don't due justice. Its been storming all day here in NY I couldn't get outside to photograph. I used the Sterling Silver beads in the chain and I used the Sodalite daggers for dangles. Thank you so much for stopping by and Do visit Hannah and the rest of the participants:

Gloria! I'm glad to hear everyone is okay and I hope the cleaning crew does a good job for you!
ReplyDeleteI love what you've made! I wouldn't have thought to pair the gold pearls with lamp work beads, and it works so well! The bow tie necklace is awesome, and the final necklace is gorgeous. Even with okay photos, I can see that. It looks like you had fun, and I hope you did! Thanks for partnering with me this year!
Thanks Hannah and I did have fun

DeleteGloria your designs are bright and cheerful. Good job. Kudos to you for doing beadwork. The spiral rope design is my favorite. I have always thought that black added sophistication to jewelry but you made it funky and fun. I am a pink girl too but I do like pink and black together. I am glad to hear that you are ok after the fire.

ReplyDeleteSo glad you posted this, your work is amazing, I love the first piece, the color you used on the metal flower is great, the whole piece reminds me of something Art Deco. I scrolled down to see the yellow and Wow, that is a beautiful piece! I like the bracelet and the last necklace, but I just can't get passed the yellow necklace and earrings. I think I am in love!!!

ReplyDeleteGreat work. The tie is so fun. The gold pearl set is bright and happy. The darker bracelet is beautiful and your beadwork on the focal necklace is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteGloria: That is a beautiful beaded chain and tassel for the focal bead! And love how you used the filigree flower finding for the tassel. Making seed bead tassels is my current fascination. I'm curious to know more about using Lumiere paints on metal, so now following your blog.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry about your kitchen. Glad that nothing serious happened.
ReplyDeleteThe blue necklace with the strand beads and tassel is so lovely.
I love how you choose which beads go to which designs....they are suite each other very well and each of them creates different impression.
ReplyDeleteLove the necklace you made with the large focal - the tassel is beautiful and really adds pizzazz to the overall design.

ReplyDeleteYour second necklace made me smile - it's very cheerful. I don't see many designs using yellow nor do I use it often myself. You may have inspired me to buy some yellow beads!
ReplyDeleteYou made great colour choices to match your soup, Gloria :) All your pieces are awesome, but the feature necklace is to die for!
ReplyDeleteGlad to know everyone is unhurt after your fire... hope things get settled easily for you!
